Our Pastor

Christian Jennert has been our Vacancy Minister since 2022. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley with a Master of Divinity degree in 2003.  He grew up in a small town just north of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, the northern part of Germany.  He came to the United States to study theology at PLTS and the Graduate Theological Union in 1999. He was the recipient of the Adelsberger Scholarship for bilingual ministry from St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in San Francisco.  Christian had previously studied at the School of Protestant Theology at the University of Tuebingen where he also worked as research assistant at the Institute for Medical Ethics and History of Medicine.

In his spare time Christian enjoys going on road trips, exploring California’s North Coast, drinking a good cup of coffee, and listening to music as well as playing the oboe or some other woodwind instrument.
