Plan your visit
We are located in San Francisco's historic Mission District, a vibrant, multi-ethnic community in the heart of San Francisco. Parking is available in the church parking lot. On Sundays, parking next to the medians on Dolores Street is permitted.
Limited parking on holidays
Our church is easily accessible by MUNI. For those coming from the East Bay, the 16th St. BART station is just a few blocks east of our building.

We hope you can join us for our bilingual Sunday services or at one of our regular community events. Whether you live in the neighborhood, are part of our Greater Bay Area community, or are visiting San Francisco, we are glad to see you.
Our Services
Bilingual Sunday services are held at 11:00 am, followed by a coffee hour. The sanctuary is on the second floor of the historic building. A chairlift is available.

In the Heart of the San Francisco Mission District- a Piece of German History
St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, directly across from the Mission Dolores, is a tangible reminder of both the city’s ethnic evolution and its little-known German past. Today, St. Matthew’s is the only Lutheran church in Northern California offering weekly bilingual services in German and English.
Join us every Sunday at 11 am for Bilingual Worship and Christian Fellowship.
