From the Vacancy Minister
Dear St. Matthew’s community,
This year, I find myself yearning for Advent and Christmas more deeply than ever. Somehow, I’ve managed to keep the commercial trappings of the season at arm’s length. I’m not sure why this Advent feels so necessary for me, but perhaps it’s because Advent—more than any other season of the church year—is one of waiting, hoping, and anticipation. And this year, I need hope more than anything.
